What we made happen

This project was designed by Jung Brannen Associates (JBA). Working with spatial and natural light elements in a Wrightian theme, the spaces made extensive use of mahogany millwork and glass, aluminum mirroring structures, sky-lighting and open heavy timber custom engineered load bearing framing systems.

The project received numerous awards from the International Architecture community and has been featured in Architectural News Record magazine. Working as Pre-Construction Director, Mr. Wade formed a relationship with Jung Brannen and provided market, cost, and constructability feedback from the Conceptual through the Construction Documents design phases. Critical labor and materials due diligence was provided to validate the feasibility of the architectural thematic elements. Mr. Wade consulted with craftsmen and suppliers/fabricators on all of the non-traditional materials being considered for the project and provided alternatives to the Owner and Architect for fixed and operating systems in order to maintain overall budget compliance.

The Architect/CM team made extensive use of mock-up modeling for the critical visual cladding assemblies and components to insure a number of criteria were investigated for employment. The first was to determine if a given system or assembly maintained higher quality if prefabricated in controlled environments or if onsite installation produced a higher time and cost result, while producing the quality standard.

Another advantage gained through this process was the understanding of sequential requirements of building a given system and its dependence on adjacent connecting structures. Compatibility of materials was studied before the budget and material specifications became permanent.
